Welcome to The Bridge, a small independent Learning Academy in Discovery Bay, welcoming students age 12-18 who thrive with tailor made learning. Our small class sizes (4:1) enable Bridge Educators to deliver highly personalised teaching and create bespoke learning experiences. We support our students to grow in confidence, gain qualifications and have a positive direction for the future.
At The Bridge, our focus on student wellbeing and confidence ensures that each student is empowered to thrive in their own unique way.
Our flexible curriculum offers a range of pathways including the Ontario High School Diploma and Functional Skills* qualifications in English, Maths and Digital and BTEC Diplomas. We also encourage students to engage in Passion projects, developing skills of enquiry, critical thinking, creativity and collaboration. A an afternoon programme of learning is available for students who can manage a full day timetable.
We also offer an extended learning homework club Monday -Friday after school, offering support to students in local mainstream settings who might benefit from extra support, attention and personalised access to their learning.

Rachel Humphreys - Head of Academy
With over 25 years of experience in education, Rachel has dedicated her career to fostering inclusive learning environments that empower all students to thrive. Formerly a Headteacher in the UK, she transitioned to Hong Kong, where she served as Principal of two inclusive schools and Head of Learning Support for a large international school catering for students aged 5 to 18.
Rachel is aware of the gap in Hong Kong for students who learn differently and require more personalised learning. She is thrilled to embark on a new venture, The Bridge, where her passion for supporting students with additional needs will take centre stage. At The Bridge, she aims to create innovative and engaging learning opportunities that meet students where they are in their educational journeys.
Believing in the power of collaboration with parents and the community, Rachel is committed to ensuring tailored experiences for every child. Her dedication to inclusivity and forward-thinking teaching strategies drives their enthusiasm for this new project.
